Call for public scholar fellow for newly established Media and Public Scholarship (MPS) Fellowship
Media and Public Scholarship (MPS) Fellowship: The DPCC Media and Public Scholarship (MPS) Fellowship, established in 2020, aims to promote DPCC’s role in public scholarship and offer doctoral students’ opportunities for professional development. Fellows are paired with an MPS Mentor from the Executive Board and engage in maintaining DPCC’s social media presence and website, participating in professional development, and conducting public scholarship activities.
Purpose: Promotes public scholarship and professional development for doctoral students.
Commitment: Approximately 2 hours per week.
Stipend: $1000
Eligibility: Must be an active DPCC member in good standing.
Responsibilities: Includes maintaining DPCC’s social media presence, participating in professional development, and engaging in public scholarship activities.
Deadline: By September 20, 2024, submit nominations to Dr. LaDonna Long, Chair of the DPCC Awards Committee, at llong@roosevelt.edu.

2023 Media and Public Scholarship Fellow
Mi’Chael N. Wright is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Minnesota. Her primary research focuses on Digital Media, Black girlhood, Identity and Mental Health. As a Health Policy Research Scholar with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Mi’Chael uses her research to establish that digital life is a core social determinant of health.
